APBioNet Elections 2005-06 Announcement

The Secretariat apologises for the delay in the elections process of APBioNet since last year.

We would like to inform you that APBioNet would like to hold elections to the APBioNet Executive Committee (ExCo) for 2005-2006.

The format of the elections as proposed by the outgoing President of APBioNet submitted in September 2004 will be adopted wherever applicable and implementable, except that the Committee size will be expanded to accommodate the growing diversity of APBioNet.

Nominations will remain open till 21 July 2005. Elections will take place from then till August 31st 2005.

In keeping with tradition, the APBioNet Exco would like to hold the Annual General Meeting of APBioNet during InCoB 2005 (22-24 Sep 2005) in Pusan, Korea. This year, we will welcome the elected ExCo members at this AGM.

The exact date and venue of the AGM 2005 will be announced as soon as our request to InCoB 2005 organisers is accepted.

Only Bioinformatics Leaders in the Asia Pacific region, with demonstrated track record and contributions to the promotion and advancement of bioinformatics in the Asia Pacific should be considered.

Nominations can only be made by APBioNet members. To join APBioNet, please fill in the online form at:

Nominees' consent should obtained and emailed to nominate __at__ apbionet.org.

Nominees should submit their latest CV, track record of service and contribution to the region, and a statement of intent (which is very important statement of what they intend to do for APBioNet and the region, should they get elected) to nominate __at__ apbionet.org.
